We are beyond thrilled to introduce Emily Smith, MS, CCC-SLP to you!
Emily has been a speech therapist for over 10 years with experience with both pediatrics and adults. After spending several years in skilled nursing facilities and being the primary SLP at long term acute care hospital, she returned to pediatrics where her passion for social skill development and interest in emerging emotional regulation research was ignited through her journey advocating for her son who “didn’t fit the mold.” This also, coincidentally, led her to Sense ABLE Brain Pediatric Therapy.
Emily was born and raised in south Louisiana and is an alumnae of Louisiana State University (GEAUX TIGERS!). She moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex for graduate school at Texas Women’s University where she received her Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology. She fell in love with Texas enough to stay for 10 years. She, her husband, and son have been Florida residents for 3 years now. She loves all things related to college football, music with a good dance beat, outdoor adventures, and is a bit of a foodie.
Emily is now scheduling new clients. If you’d like to schedule an evaluation, please call our office at 813-803-3470. And if you’re already one of our families, please give Emily a shout-out online and a warm welcome when you see her in the office!
