Laser Light Therapy (QRI) for Children in Lutz, FL

If your child struggles with focus, emotional regulation, sensory challenges, fascial restrictions in the body, or learning delays, Laser Light Therapy with the QRI Laser may be a powerful starting point for positive change.
At Sense Able Brain, we use the gentle and effective QRI Laser to support retained primitive reflex integration and help build stronger neurological foundations for learning, regulation, and daily life. When reflexes are better integrated, the nervous system can focus more easily, paving the way for emotional balance, attention, and real academic progress.
Your child receives individualized support during the therapy session, and you receive instruction and training for the laser that will be issued to you to keep and use at home.
What Is Quantum Reflex Integration (QRI) Laser Therapy?
Quantum Reflex Integration, or QRI, is a low-level, FDA-approved, cold laser with a protocol we use to support the integration of retained primitive reflexes, reduce fascial restrictions, and calm an over-reactive nervous system.
Reflexes are early movement patterns babies are born with. As children grow, those reflexes should naturally integrate so the body and brain can move on to more mature patterns of movement, regulation, attention, and learning.
When primitive reflexes remain active longer than expected, they can become one of the hidden reasons a child struggles with focus, sensory processing, coordination, emotional regulation, or learning. Parents often sense that their child is trying hard, but something in the body is still getting in the way.
The QRI Laser gives us a gentle, non-invasive and painless way to support those neurological foundations. There is no heat, no needles, and no discomfort involved. Your child receives individualized support from a trained Occupational Therapist or Speech Therapist, and you receive the training needed to continue the recommended home protocol with the take-home laser.
How QRI Laser Differs from Traditional OT and Other Therapies
Traditional occupational therapy and speech therapy help children build skills through movement, play, communication, feeding, sensory input, repetition, and direct skill-building. That work matters, but it’s not always enough for some of our most intricately wired and immature nervous systems. A reflex that is still active beyond the typical age of integration is relying on an immature processing pattern, and that can make growth and progress feel harder than it should. That’s why our therapy sessions don’t stop with the traditional interventions.
QRI Laser Light Therapy does not replace OT or ST. It supports the work we do at a neurological and fascial level that traditional therapy simply can’t reach on its own. It doesn’t replace the occupational therapy or speech therapy work your child is doing, it removes some of the barriers that may have been impeding progress.
Families sometimes ask how QRI compares to our Sound Learning Therapy (Safe & Sound Protocol). Both approaches aim to help a child’s nervous system feel calmer and more regulated, but they work through different pathways. The SSP works directly through the auditory system and the social engagement system, gently helping them both become more available for regulation, engagement, communication, and learning. In addition to being a stand-alone program, it is another tool we can stack in our Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy sessions, with or without the other interventions we provide such as the QRI Laser, bodywork, frequencies, and PEMFs.
QRI Laser works more directly on retained reflexes and fascial restriction through targeted light therapy. Many children benefit from multiple interventions to support the growth of their unique neurodevelopmental needs in one Plan of Care, and we’ll help you understand which approach, or combination, makes the most sense for your child.
Challenges QRI Laser Therapy Can Help Address
QRI Laser may support children who are working through:
Primitive reflex retentionSensory processing disorder / sensory integration challengesFascial constrictionsLow muscle toneToe walkingGross and fine motor coordination challengesEmotional and behavioral dysregulationAnxietyPre- and post-oral tether release support (tongue and lip ties)Developmental delaysFocus and attention challengesLearning delays related to retained reflexesDifficulty calming the body enough to learnPoor body awareness or immature movement patternsChildren who have plateaued in therapy and may need deeper neurodevelopmental foundation support
Every child’s path to success looks different, so QRI is used to help address the specific patterns we see in your child’s evaluation, not applied as a one-size-fits-all protocol.
What Happens During a QRI Laser Session?
Your child’s Laser Light Therapy session is calm, gentle and individualized for their needs. During the session your child may be asked to lie down, sit in a chair, relax on a crash pad, or swing while the therapist uses the laser to target reflex patterns that may be interfering with your child’s ability to focus, regulate, move, or learn. The therapist will observe how your child responds to the therapy, and will provide guidance to help you understand so you can be more successful at promoting progress at home. There’s no heat, no pressure, no immobilization, and no pain. Most children find the sessions soothing, and many relax or even settle in for the ride. They may even fall asleep in the car on the way home!
