Pediatric OT & Speech Therapy Serving Largo, FL

Largo families have access to many therapy options, but not every child will benefit from a traditional pediatric therapy approach. If your child has been in pediatric occupational therapy or speech therapy before and progress still feels slow, scattered, or hard to carry over at home, our Lutz clinic offers a different path: a whole-child, neurodevelopmental approach for children ages infant to young adults who need someone to look deeper.

Largo Families Have Options, But Not All Therapy Is the Same

We know Largo families have multiple choices for pediatric therapy. You may have already started with more traditional options such as school-based services, talked with your pediatrician, completed an ESE evaluation, or tried traditional pediatric therapy that helped in some ways but still left you feeling like an important piece was missing. We understand that frustration. It is hard to keep showing up for appointments, watching your child work hard, and still wonder why everyday life is not getting easier for your child or your family.

At Sense Able Brain, we are not trying to duplicate what you have already tried. Families who drive from Largo to our Lutz clinic are usually looking for a deeper explanation and a more connected plan. The drive north from Pinellas County is a real commitment, so we work hard to make each visit meaningful, connected, and filled with practica tips that you can use at home, at school, and in daily routines.

Beyond Traditional Therapy: The A.B.L.E. Approach

If your child has already “done therapy” and you are still not seeing skills carry over into real life, we understand why you may feel skeptical. We take a whole-child, neurodevelopmental perspective to look underneath the surface skill, and ask what your child’s body and brain need before true progress can stick.

Instead of working on one isolated skill at a time, we use our A.B.L.E. Approach to Activate, Balance, Link, and Engage the foundations underneath that skill: nervous system regulation, sensory processing, primitive reflex integration, motor planning, postural control, oral-motor skills, and communication. When it is appropriate for your child, therapy may also include tools such as QRI Laser Light Therapy, the Safe & Sound Protocol, pediatric bodywork through the Gillespie Method or STI Bodywork, and other neurodevelopmental supports.

This is what makes our work different. We are not just asking your child to try harder. We are looking for the reason the skill has been so hard in the first place.

Picky Eating, Meltdowns, and Sensory Overload: We Specialize Here

Some families come to us because mealtimes have become stressful. Others come because their child struggles to regulate when clothing, noise, transitions, handwriting, playground skills, or school demands seem to take more out of their child than they should. Many parents can describe what is happening, but they have not been given a clear explanation for why it is happening.

That is where our team does its best work. We help Largo families understand sensory processing challenges, feeding difficulties, oral-motor delays, sensory-based food aversions, ARFID-like patterns, emotional regulation struggles, and the body-based reasons a child may avoid, resist, melt down, or shut down. And for younger children and babies, our Infant Feeding Therapy, Lactation Coaching, A.B.L.E. Baby Program, and Pediatric Bodywork services can help address feeding, movement, and regulation concerns early.

You Don’t Need a Diagnosis to Start Getting Answers

You do not need to have a diagnosis, the right paperwork, or a long list of answers before reaching out. If your child has been through a school evaluation that did not explain the whole picture, or you have been told to “wait and see” even though something still feels off, we can help you take the next step.

Our process starts with the neurodevelopmental patterns we see in your child and what you are seeing at home. From there, we help you understand whether occupational therapy, speech therapy, feeding therapy, bodywork, Sound Learning, QRI Laser Light Therapy, or another part of our A.B.L.E. approach may be the right fit.
