We are so excited to introduce our newest Occupational Therapist: Danielle Hicken, MS, OTR/L!

Danielle Hicken is a pediatric occupational therapist with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. There, Danielle volunteered at elementary schools in the area in efforts to improve childhood literacy. She also enjoyed being a part of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Florida, where she served as a mentor to an at-risk child.
In between her undergraduate and graduate studies, Danielle spent a gap year teaching English in Madrid to Kindergarten and 1st grade students. It was here that she developed her love of working with children and realized she wanted to dedicate the rest of her life to helping them grow and succeed.
Danielle has worked with children both in schools and outpatient clinics, and she enjoys advocating for children in the classroom. She has experience with children of all ages who have differences in learning, attention, sensory processing, emotional regulation, reflex presentation, executive functions, and motor coordination. She lovingly refers to ADHD and Autism as “superpowers” and believes in a strengths-based approach to therapy.
Danielle enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, yoga, live music, finding good dairy-free recipes, and Gator football!
