We have heard from many of you that you are concerned about your child’s ability to be academically ready for school when it resumes in the Fall (whether it’s in-person or online). While we believe that the first thing to address is the stress response that our current environment is eliciting in many children, we understand that you want to make sure your child is as ready as they can be for the academic demands of the new school year.
So we have reached out to our friend Jeanne Harrison, a special education teacher, and have coordinated to have her available for 1:1 tutoring sessions over this summer! Jeanne has over 20 years of experience working with children in schools, therapeutic environments, youth groups and Boy Scouts of America. She earned an M.A. in Special Education with a minor in Music and Psychology from the University of Phoenix. She has just recently completed her M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. Jeanne currently is a teacher at Tampa Day School and has experience teaching math, science, and music in the lower division (1-3), along with after school tutoring and summer camps for math and reading. Before Tampa Day School, she taught at FACE (Florida Autism Center for Excellence) in the elementary classroom. In her classes, she incorporates a variety of kinesthetic activities, music and technology to engage students.
